Crosswind

Crosswind specializes in the music of Ireland and Scotland as well as traditional American music of the Appalachian Mountains.  Members of the band are Katie Peterson, Jan Alexander and Kent Gugler.  A Crosswind performances is lively, dynamic, and filled with much variety ranging from beautiful harp pieces and soulful songs, to upbeat fiddle dance music.  Crosswind is experienced and professional having performed at numerous weddings and festivals in addition to being long term performers with the "Arizona Commission of the Arts". 

KATIE PETERSON:  Katie immersed herself in music at Northern Arizona University and has been playing Celtic music since 1982.  Katie attended the Shetland Fiddle School in Sterling Scotland and the Willie Clancy School in Miltown Malbay Ireland.  Katie has sought out various masters in the Celtic Tradition absorbing the intricacies of the style.  Katie has been a private music teacher since 1992. 

JAN ALEXANDER:  Jan has been performing as a singer for more than twenty years.  She toured the western states prior to moving to Prescott in 1991.  Jan has a natural feel for Irish music and a passion for arranging and performing in a musical group.  Her voice, pure and clear, is a trademark of the Irish singer and adds a riveting dimension to a Crosswind performance. 

KENT GUGLER:  Kent, born in Chicago, plays the fretless banjo, tenor banjo and mandolins.  He has loved and played traditional and nontraditional music for most of his life.  Kent is a local school teacher, passing his love of music onto the next generation.
